What we get called out for: circuits that keep tripping the RCD, sockets or lights that have gone dead, burning smells or scorch marks at a socket, consumer units that buzz or trip on damp mornings, immersion heaters and showers that have stopped working, outdoor and garden circuits failing after rain, and intermittent faults that come and go with no obvious pattern.

How we work. Fault finding is a diagnostic job, not guesswork. We use insulation resistance and loop impedance testing to isolate the fault to a specific circuit or accessory rather than replacing parts hoping something sticks. You get told what the fault is, what it will cost to put right, and whether it is a repair or a symptom of something larger like deteriorated rubber or aluminium wiring that needs a rewire.

We also carry out EICR remedial work - if another electrician has issued you a report with C1, C2 or FI codes, we will price and clear the items so the property can be certified satisfactory. This matters for landlords, who must hold a satisfactory EICR for every tenanted property in England.
